Skippers, Crews and Interested Others,
JOSC will return to the sparkling, sorry murky, waters of Jakarta Bay after Lebaran. Hazzah hazzah.
While Bea Cukai (Custom department) has done their utmost to make 2007 a dead year in the club's history, we are going to try to salvage something from the wreckage of this unfortunate year.
With that in mind we plan to have a racing series of short races close to Pantai Mutiara, two per race day starting after Lebaran. This will be the 2007 HM series but race 1 will be for the Peter Jackson Memorial Trophy. Races will typically include one standard format and one pursuit on each race day with drinks afterwards at Pantai Mutiara.
People interested to sail are requested to contact Thierry Powis (tpowis@cbn.net.id) to make sure a seat is available on a boat. You may show up on Sunday but if you have no prior reservation you may be declined to board a boat due to limited availability.
In addition we are looking to also have a family sailing day with BBQ on Damar Kecil or Besar and a ladies race before 2008 rolls around.
As usual pre race meeting will be held the in Eastern Promise the Tuesday before the Race at 20pm.
Proposed dates are:
- 18 November - HM 4 and 5
- 2 December - Family day and BBQ
- 16 December - HM 7 and Ladies Race
So skippers, scrape off the weeds, air out the sails and most importantly get the beer stocks in.
