The Jakarta Offshore Sailing Club

Flotilla

Boats ranked by Alphabetical order

ALICE

Alice is a 30ft long, 7ft wide, fiberglass coated wooden sloop originally  built in Italy in the late 60’s. After being shipped to Jakarta by a member  of the Italian Embassy in the early 70’s, she has been sailing Indonesian  waters until today.  Alice makes a great boat for weekend cruises (she perfectly sleeps one couple…) and will soon again be feared on the JOSC weekend regattas

AQUILA

As one of the original designs produced by Ta Yang, it has been said of the Tayana 37, that it is "the most successful custom cruising yacht ever built." With the exception of modern hardware and rigging options, the fact that this "full-keeled double-ender" has changed little with the times, summarizes its appeal for those sailors who admire a stout, safe and proven yacht of this traditional style.

CANDOLA

The Albin Ballad is a 30' fibreglass sloop, of Scandinavian design and construction that makes her a robust big water boat while carrying low freeboard and an attractive profile. A larger sister to the famous Albin Vega. A Sailor's boat, meant to be in the hands of a skipper who would sail her hard and long in all conditions! Build in 1979.

KERSEY

Is a Sparkman & Stevens designed sloop, built of GRP in 1987 by Holiday Boats Inc. in Mariveles, The Philippines. LOA is 35' 06", Beam is 11' 06" and draft is 6' 06". She has a raked bow and reverse sheer transom, with typical fractional rig. She is registered in the UK.

KNOT ALOT

Knot Alot is a New Zealand designed Weta 4.4m trimaran. The Weta gives alot and takes very little. The Weta is a versatile, fun to sail, easy to manage and very well built Trimaran that does a good job of keeping most sailors happy (we all know it is impossible to keep all sailors happy). A combination of stiff and lightweight fiberglass hulls, carbon beams and mast, a powerful sail plan along with great attention to detail make this one of the best new small sailboats to come out in years. Well balanced and easy to helm on all points of sail, the Weta is a great learn to sail boat that is easy to tack and has no boom to threaten your head. Take the Jib off to de-power in strong winds or to  let the kids sail on their own. The roller furling screacher adds exhilarating downwind performance.

NENG GEULIS

The F-27 is a special boat for a different kind of sailing adventure. If you want to sail fast effortlessly, without a large crew, and in comfort, this is the boat for you. Responsive to finger tip control at the helm, the F-27 points high, tacks smartly and is a joy to sail. Acceleration is smooth and swift. You will never forget the exhilaration of the first time you catch a 10-12 knot breeze in your sails -- and the crew will not forget the irrepressible foot-wide smile that spreads across your face!

NIRVANA

Is a 10M masthead sloop was manufactured in Indonesia in the early part of the new millennium. The design, evocative of yachts from Finland's Swan Boat works, features a narrow fin keel and rudder giving the boat high maneuverability and good pointing ability; Fiberglass hull; Wheel steering; Cabin sleeps up to six extremely close friends.

ORION II

Orion II is a Sagitta 20 designed by the world famous naval architects Sparkman & Stephens of Fort Lauderdale, New York. A boat specially designed to meet the best measurement in C.C.A and R.O.R.C class V. The hull is built of one piece hand laid moulded fiberglass in Denmark by Royal Systems Yacht Yards, she has a length of 6.14m beam of 2.34m and draft of 1.15m. A long water line in connection with fin keel and spade rudder with kick down ensures stability, higher speed and better steering capacity. A spacious 20 footer with 4 full sized berths, as spacious as a 24 footer. She carries a comprehensive wardrobe of sails and performs very well in the typical light breezes of the Jakarta Bay. A lovely easy to handle family boat for weekend cruises and well placed in JOSC races.

TERUS

Terus is a sloop build in 1978 following the plans of Van Der Stadt  in Sri-Lanka . Length 10m40 draft of 1m50. It is a very pleasant boat to sail as it is very stable in all sea conditions and sails nearly every week-end in the Jakarta bay.
